Selling at Nye & Company
How to Sell
Potential consignors are encouraged to submit photographs for a complimentary evaluation or to call to schedule an appointment for a house visit for a minimal hourly fee. One of Nye's category specialists will take the call, ask specific questions and determine how best to proceed.
Custom Proposal – When property is consigned to auction, occasionally purchased outright or brokered privately, we can provide a tailored proposal.
Distribution of Property – We work with a number of professional moving companies specializing in antiques and fine art, to make arrangements and administer the packing and shipping of a single item or an entire estate anywhere in the United States.
Disposition of Non-Saleable Items – Nye will arrange for the appropriate donation or disposal of non-saleable items.
We Understand the Importance of Prompt Closure – and ensure settlement 35 business days after the sale.
Our various tiered auctions are held live, in our galleries, with an online component or solely online through our bidding platform. Monthly auctions are well attended by antique dealers, focused collectors, renown decorators and private homeowners. Extensive advertising, blast emails, social networking, personal telephone calls and our online presence attract international bidders.
All auction items are on view for prospective buyers from the greater New York and Philadelphia areas to see during the public exhibitions scheduled for up to two weeks prior to the sale. Attractive room settings are created – enhancing the appeal of the each item. Our presence is hard to miss, as our 25,000 square foot gallery is right on the Garden State Parkway, minutes from New York City and Newark International Liberty Airport.
Special auctions are held as needed to emphasize a collection or renowned estate.
